Hi Furryball team!

I don't mean any harm, but I just wonder why you don't make Furryball RT support some really important feautres. Very commonly used materials in Maya are Use background and Surface... And Image plane is important as well. I think people would use Furryball more if your renderer was capable of rendering them, because we don't just render 3D animation, but composite. I know we can do this some other way using third party programms, the post production ones... but no, we're tired of this. That's why we, unfortunatelly, use other renderers that include it. I really hope you will make this possible in next releases.

Greetings!

Yes,
you are right Image plane is not supported (we will do it ASAP).

Maya shadow catcher is not supported, but we have own Shadow catcher with much more possibilities. You can turn it on EVERY material just on each object.
Here is tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTUJIxwwGFo

But you are right, it not much clear in the help. We will add more specifically to the help.

Surface shader is also not supported, but on each FurryBall material, there is Mate attribute and you can make each material matted and you can select even specific matte color for composition if you need.

Hi!
I use Surface shader when I want to stick the image (from an image plane) to objects (so, if you rotate the camera too much the image can be stretched on some sides of the objects). Well, ok, it's not that surface shader is the most imortant one to me, but image plane IS.
