Hi

Are you planning on a 2016 upgrade(Just recompile no new features) for Furryball 4 ?
Because that would be very convenient for me as I do not need the new raytracer .

Thanks

No FurryBall 4 is discontinued - FurryBall RT is the future and already supports Maya 2016.
BTW, don't be afraid - all is much faster and much easier for setup.

That is too bad

I do not need a raytracer I need a viewport 2 quality except that furry ball was better at this
If need a raytracer I got vray which I am very very good at and I can get pretty good performance regarding speed and memory at animation and a lot more options (biased - unbiased)-(cpu - gpu) , the only option I favor furryball is when I need a GI_Less/cartoonish/Viewport quality .

Also if I need a very high realistic (slow biased) quality (which I don't) I would go with Arnold or the new Renderman (they are pretty much standard) or even the new mentalray.

example of what I mean :http://starfishninja.blogspot.com/2012/08/realtime-rendering-with-viewport-20.html

Thanks

FurryBall has same features like renderers you mentioned and FurryBall is MUCH faster.
We are very curious WHAT exactly you miss in FurryBall compare to renders you mentioned. It will help us.

I miss very fast render which I need for certain project where raytracing reflection and Gi is not essintial.

I can use something like mentalray with no gi enabled but even there it will still take some time (relatively) on the other hand something like viewport 2 can achieve a similar result but faster as for furryball 4 it is faster also but with better features like unlimited lights.

If I am right , your line of development matches that of pixar renderman in some way but even new renderman still has the old reyes beside the new ris .

Thanks

Speed of FurryBall RT is almost SAME like FurryBall 4 (if you not use indirect or some blurred reflections). For many cases even faster!

So primary rays has same speed like old FurryBall. If there is any slowdown, it can be in very easy or very fast scene - in RT rendertime will not be 25FPS, but "just" 10FPS for example, but it's no different and it cost for quality and easy setup.

Did you REALLY test RT in your scene, or it's just theory?
